Upon hearing rumors of a Cheetah with six cubs, we moved quickly to investigate. The area is full of tall grass so it was really difficult and I didn’t have much hope. But all of a sudden a herd of Wildebeests stops abruptly and warns alarm calls, and there’s a Cheetah sitting in the middle of the plains. I move closer to investigate and her belly showed that she definitely had small cubs. And sure enough, she called them out, but only two cubs approximately 6 weeks old appeared from a nearby bush. I don’t know if she’s the same Cheetah who lost the others or if it’s another one. In the afternoon, Paja was out on the Talek river bed playing with a Monitor Lizard he just killed, while Ngayoni was out in rocks chasing Agama Lizards! They were both waiting for Olive, who in mid morning killed a Wildebeest in the bushes. She dragged it to a stream and ate part of it, but an Hyena stole it from her soon after sundown.
