
Today I headed again to the Paradise Plains, where scattered herds of zebras and wildebeests are occasionally crossing the Mara River, for the joy of the many huge crocodiles waiting for them. Today only a small group crossed, as the access to the crossing site was blocked by the five young male lions. As I waited, a group of four foraging Ground Hornbills reached a termite mound and repeatedly attempted to eradicate a root growing on it. In the process they engaged in vigorous duels between them.
