After the Elephants’ fight I travelled across the border to Arusha, in Tanzania, where I met my guests. Early morning we began our journey to the short grass plains of Southern Serengeti, where the Wildebeests’ migration concentrates during the rainy season. The road to Lake Ndutu, our base for the following week, passes along the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater and continues down its slopes, from where one of the most breathtaking sceneries in East Africa can be admired. The short grass plains of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Serengeti, crossed by the Ol Duvai gorge and framed to the north by the Gol Mountains.
