
The two Lionesses of the Masek pride developed an habit of climbing Acacia trees to rest away the hottest hours of the day. We found out though that the comfort of a branch can also be a perfect lookout point for potential prey. As a herd of Wildebeests approached to drink and cross the gulley they both descended swiftly and took position. In less than one hour two calves were missing and two Lionesses were feeding.
