Another day concentrating on the Three Cheetah brothers, still hungry after missing their Wildebeest yesterday. As we found them in the morning, a Spotted Hyena was sitting nearby them and as the day drew on and they walked around in search for prey, the Hyena kept on following them. They stalked some Topi for a long time before they ran away, and finally they stumbled on a young Warthog. They chased it through the grass and caught it. One of them suffocated it as the other started eating. The Hyena however heard the crying of the Warthog and rushed on the scene. One of the three Cheetahs tried to scare it off, but to no avail. In the evening the Cheetah sat down for the night not far from a herd of Grant’s Gazelles, probably waiting to try again tomorrow. And as we sat with them the Ridge pride of Lions started roaring from a short distance away. We rushed there and watched the two males and the females roar all together from a few meters away from us. Our chests vibrated with every roar, as the sky grew dark and the night fell. A really fantastic Mara evening.
