A fantastic early morning today, with Olive and her cubs. At sunrise we found Olive and Ngayoni, one of her two male cubs, on the rocks on the bed of the Olare Orok River. Ngayoni was apparently very happy of being reunited with his mother, and they both called extensively for the other cub to join them. In the meantime Ngayoni tried repeatedly to suckle from Olive, but she wouldn’t let him. After about ten minutes of calling finally the other cub Paja joined them and they started walking along the river to the nearby forest. We suspect that Olive was calling them to take them to a new kill stashed away in the forest. After their disappearance we moved to check the Cheetahs, and we found them all four still together, but nothing happened for most of the day between them. They haven’t eaten in a few days and they must be hungry, but they show no intention at all to hunt.
