The Hyenas were again on the scene of Olive’s kill from last night. She walked away with a full belly, so she definitely had her fill, but the cubs are still on their own, most likely very hungry. They have been taking bites off small animals they manage to kill themselves, but two young boys need much more than that. Hopefully Olive will call them up one of these days and take them to a substantial meal! In the meantime, the cubs are still playful on the rocks in the river. Ngayoni jumped on Paja as he rested, and the two wrestled for a long time in full view. We were then called to a beautiful crossing on the Mara, with Wildebeests coming our way in response to the evening showers we had in the east of the park. And in the afternoon a new Cheetah with two cubs showed up, not more than 3 months old. She walked with them a really long way after eating a Gazelle, she seemed in search for water. The cubs struggled to keep up and only with the last rays of sun she finally settled for the night. As soon as she stopped the cubs laid down and went straight to sleep, so tired they were!
