We caught up with Olive’s cubs in the same place as yesterday, still on their own. They played and stalked a Thompson’s Gazelle before retiring into the bushes. Soon after the Three Boys, the three male Cheetahs, came across the Talek River and laid down not far from where the cubs were. We proceeded on to the crossings site and found small herds tentatively approaching the shore. A very hungry large Crocodile couldn’t wait for them to get in the water and attacked the animals as they drank twice. The second strike was successful and the animals retreated and didn’t cross. Our safari so far had been amazing but we hadn’t spent much time with Lions before this afternoon. So we searched for them and found a pride that established along the Olare Orok river with a Zebra kill in the river bed. The nicest surprise was a tiny cub, two months old, playing around with the adults and the older siblings, and being carried in the mouth by its mother.
