
A full day with Alama and her two big male cubs. They were clearly hungry as they tried five times to hunt in the morning. Invariably something went wrong, most often bad timing by the cubs who are now in that age when they want to participate actively in every hunt, without the proper experience. Finally at around 3pm they succeeded to kill an Impala fawn walking by with its mother, but a Spotted Hyena that was lying nearby promptly stole their kill. It seems like Hyenas specialize in keeping close to Cheetahs until they hunt, to steal the prey, in particular in times of scarcity of food
