As we were photographing some Lions just at sunrise, we started hearing incessant barkings from Jackals. We immediately proceeded to investigate and found a female Leopard on a tree, with a Thompson’s gazelle that she had just killed and lifted on the topmost branches. She is the 2008 daughter of a female we call Acacia and she still lives near her mother’s territory. Up in the plains the Three Cheetah Brothers were resting in the shade, all three big cats visible within a 500mts range at the same time. Only in the Mara, as I don’t know in how many parks in Africa something like this happens. We planned this climbing shot at sunset already in the morning, and all panned out well. She climbed the tree on the side we expected her to, and approximately at the right time.
