After a rainy night, I rushed to the location where I left the Leopards, and I found the big male on the tree eating the Reedbuck. Mbili was nearby and as he descended, they mated a couple of times away from view. During the morning they were hardly seen, expect for this brief moment, a romantic walk on the river bed for the honeymooning couple. At lunch time the male returned to the kill and removed it from the tree. I couldn’t see them again until almost at sundown. Almost magically, he appeared on the same old Fig Tree that the Leopards of this area seem to like so much! This male is quite aggressive to vehicles and his eyes are so expressive that I would like to name him “Macho”, meaning eyes in Swahili.
