Today I went to look for the Lion cubs at sunrise and I found them alone, without their mother and in a not easily accessible place. So I left them and spent the morning with a coalition of four young males in the Ol Kiombo territory, which I suspect could be the cubs born in 2008 from the resident pride. They were stationed around a waterhole with a big herd of Buffalos nearby. I had to leave for logistic issues but I later found out that one when one of the four started to hunt a Buffalo, the whole herd turned against them and chased for a long way across the plains. In the evening I stayed with this mating couple. Meanwhile, Olive has been seen with the cubs down on the Olare Orok River.
