Today the Elephants started congregating in big numbers around the swamps on the eastern side of the park. Big family units were joined by many bulls, among which three amazing tuskers. One of them is the big bull I photographed extensively last year, and I was extremely pleased to see him again. The one in the picture is one of the other big tuskers, and today just after noon I watched him mate with a female, probably the one that attracted all these males to the area. In the afternoon I spent some time with a family on the edge of the marsh, and this particular female showed a keen interest in my camera! The image was taken with a 17mm lens not controlled remotely. She really was a couple of meters away! An amazing moment!
