On these past few days on safari in Mara we also regularly came across a family of three females with seven cubs. They are sons of the coalition of six males that dominates the Mara river, and I reckon they should be around seven months old. On this particular morning we found the seven cubs out on termite mounds taking in the first warm rays of sun after the cold night, waiting for their mothers who were away. They came later in the afternoon to collect them and take them to a fresh kill.
