Today I didn’t have much luck with the Elephants. I couldn’t find any particularly good image. I came across some herds of Elephants that were a little more nervous than the usual Amboseli herds, so it was difficult to get close to them. I witnessed some nice interactions around a female in estrous still accompanied by two calves of different ages, and one dominant bull and three subordinates. The dominant ended up mating with her. In the evening I searched for Elephants in the Acacia woodlands but I couldn’t find any, so I was happy to photograph this large herd of Zebras at sunset raising a lot of dust blown by the afternoon wind. It is really impressive the number of Zebras that are in the park now, compared to how empty the park was in 2010 and early 2011.
