After last night’s terrible thunderstorm the tracks were slippery and wet, and we got stuck right away before sunrise. We got out quick but nonetheless the day started really quiet. It only picked up mid morning with some more crossings on the Talek river immediately followed by an extremely rare and emotional sighting. A female Cheetah has just given birth to five tiny cubs and today she decided to move them from one den to another. She went to pick them one by one while the others would scream and cry. The grass was long, the light was harsh, but such a sighting is so unique and rare that it didn’t matter at all! All followed by a beautiful evening with a pride of Lions with seven cubs.
