Just out of camp we encountered a Lioness with a single cub, about nine months old. It’s one of a litter of three that I saw in February, the other two cubs didn’t make it, and it’s no surprise as they were visibly sick with mange. On we found Olive taking a freshly killed Impala fawn to her cub Bahati, who then started playing like mad with the dead fawn. She rolled, jumped, kicked, tossed it in the air, really great to watch but no photographs. After spending some time with the Cheetah with one cub, in the afternoon we came across a big herd of Wildebeests on the move and this attracted a pride of Lions to the scene. The older female positioned for the hunt, but her daughters spoiled it all by walking out in the open.
