These was a day almost entirely devoted to the great migration. I have never seen such a huge and vast concentration of animals as today. The plains from Lookout Hill to the Talek river were completely full of Wildebeests. Without considering the thousands that already crossed to the Mara Triangle in the past few days. The crossings started soon after daybreak and continued on until four pm, in different places. It was clear immediately though that with the animals going away from us, into the Mara Triangle, we wouldn’t have seen the best of these crossings. So we decided to cross the Mara river ourselves, into the Mara Triangle, and wait for the animals to come to us. It was an excellent decision because we had many different crossings in different locations, and quite amazingly, with almost no other vehicles around. On the opposite side there were at times up to thirty vehicles for one crossing.
