A beautiful day, with some really lovely interactions at the Black-backed Jackals’ den in the early morning light. The mother regurgitated food for her pups and suckled them out in the open, and the pups played madly. They were also extremely curious of us, approaching the vehicle several times to inspect us. Then we found a lone Cheetah who made an unsuccessful hunting attempt, and we spent the afternoon with the Marsh pride of Lions. Joy, one of the six-years old females, had caught a Wildebeest in the night. Her four cubs and the other adult females of the pride were feeding on it. Siena, her sister, was with her surviving cub, about three months old, the male Romeo and the adolescent Lions, attempting to hunt Warthogs and walking beautifully in the light rain.
