With such an extraordinary situation at hand, we decided to return to Lorian and her cubs with an overcast sky above. They were still near the tree where the kill was, and they were playing vigorously. After some time, Lorian decided to move away. She first headed east but then decided to head back, past the tree and on for about a kilometre. The cubs followed enthusiastically, but were forced to dive into the water when Lorian decided to cross the Ol Keju Rongai stream. Unfortunately this was our last sighting, as after that they disappeared in a patch of bushes and didn’t come out again for a very long time. While searching we got badly stuck, I got bitten badly by huge ants, but we recovered and moved on to search for the pride of Lions that lives around Naibor camp, along the Talek river. We found the three females, the eight one-year old cubs and the newest members of the family, three tiny three months old cubs which I first saw in October.
