A quiet early part of the morning looking for Leopards. Olive has not been seen for weeks. Only now are vehicles starting to explore her territory again, but the vegetation makes sightings really difficult. After breakfast we headed to the Topi plains where the Marsh Lions had killed a Buffalo in the night and were feasting on it. All four males were on the scene, plus four female, and they were eating the carcass to the very last bone. Many Hyenas joined in and stole a leg that a Jackal had been feasting on unseen by all in the tall grass. One of the male Lions, although he was already sleeping in the shade, returned to the Hyenas to claim his food back. He charged repeatedly to chase the Hyenas but eventually let go and returned to rest.
