The above image of White Pelicans fishing has been taken from the main road immediately after the gate. The trees that once made up the forest surrounding the road are drowning and slowly dying. Lots of water birds make this area very interesting though, especially as the road runs basically through the lake and among the birds. Weather was awful though on the way in. The next day we had a lovely day with most of Lake Nakuru regular sights, including tree-climbing Lions in the afternoon. We saw less Rhinoceroses than usual, probably due to the fact that most of the plains that they used to graze have now been covered by water.
