A new safari begins today while dark clouds and rain return to the Mara. We have had a couple of weeks of really sunny and hot days. Of course with the rain come the dramatic skies and light filtering through the clouds which I really love. The Marsh lions had a buffalo kill and nearby a quite rare bird showed up, feeding on the scraps of the kill, an Egyptian Vulture. I had never seen one in Mara before. We left the lions to follow this lone Giraffe crossing the Topi plains while the rain started.
