Yesterday we saw huge herds of Wildebeests moving into the woodlands from the plains. So we headed right there at first light looking for the breeding herd of Wildebeests cows. We found the herd and by sitting still for some time finally we spotted in the distance a newborn calf, and not far off another female with the tip of the legs of the calf just beginning to show from behind, meaning that she was about to give birth. She was very shy so we kept our distance and saw the calf being born from a distance. We pulled a little closer when the calf struggled to stand up. It’s always a special emotion to see a life been born in front of you. For the rest of the day we had a Cheetah this time with three cubs trying to hunt unsuccessfully, before she disappeared across the park border.
