Kenya was very dry when we started our first safari of the year to Amboseli and Masai Mara. When it’s dry in Amboseli, animals always gather around the swamps, source of food and water. Zebras are particularly picturesque as they walk in the dust at sunset, through the acacia woodlands.

Elephants were also abundant. We waited patiently for them to come out of the marshes in the afternoon, and we were often rewarded with extensive playing. In the morning we had some beautiful backlit moments as the elephant families grazed before reaching the swamps.
