Mana Pools NP, on the banks of the Lower Zambesi river, was by far the highlight of the trip, and a park I really fell in love with. It was hot as hell, with temperatures around 43° in the shade, as October is the end of the dry season. It’s probably the best time to be there for wildlife sightings, as all the animals concentrate along the river. I had hoped to see African Wild Dogs, as reportedly chances are good there, but I didn’t imagine I would see them almost everyday, with a peak of 60 Wild Dogs in one single day, divided in two different packs.
