After almost one year it was fantastic to be back to Mana Pools. We started off at the Chitake spring in the inland, surrounded as usual by large herds of Buffalos coming to drink at the spring. Having dinner in the dry river bed with Lions roaring all around us and Elephants walking by a couple of meters away in the dark is an unforgettable experience. Some guests were crying in emotion. The following days we found the Lion pride with six months old cubs and a beautiful huge male with them. One evening as we sat with the Lions we saw some Impalas run towards us jumping high as if chased by a predator. We thought Wild dogs. Soon after two black and white dog-size creatures appeared running at full speed one after the other. As they got close it was clear that both the Impalas and us were confused by the most amazing sighting of two African Civets chasing each other!
