On the shores of the artifical Lake Kariba, formed in the 1950s by the building of the Kariba dam, lies Matusadona NP.
Matusadona hosts sizeable populations of Elephants, Buffalos, Hippos, Impalas and Lions. Birdlife along the lake shore is fantastic.
What is most striking of this park are the dead trees emerging from the water of the lake along the shores. Elephants spend time on the shore and in the water grazing, offering excellent images in an absolutely unique setting. The scenery is particularly breathtaking at sunset, when the sun drops on the water among the trees.
Game viewing is done on foot, boats and game drives. Our camp is just on the lake shore, a truly memorable experience.
