What is most fascinating about Mana Pools NP is that most of the photography is done on foot. Animals are habituated to people walking in the park, so they do not generally run away in the same way as they do in other places when they see people out of their vehicles. It is fundamental to be accompanied by a professional guide with the certification for walking safaris, as animals are completely wild, and potentially dangerous situations can develop at any time. A properly trained guide will know how to foresee and avoid these situations. It was extraordinary to be laying on the floor next to a pack of Wild Dogs catching and eating a female Impala. And walking with them to their resting place for the hottest hours of the day. There is a magical atmosphere in Mana Pools, with the hazy light filtering through the trees on the floodplains floor and the trees providing excellent frames for the animals walking on the bare floor.
